Infographic for COVID-19

Problem:

Create a poster informing viewers of the precautionary measures taken to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Solution:

Infographics for COVID-19 were everywhere during the pandemic and my goal was to create an infographic that stood out but was still straightforward. I first thought of doctor's offices and the colors of pediatric care and hospital room posters because I thought this poster would be popular in those areas. I wanted the poster to be understandable through imagery and little writing to encourage people to look at it and so that kids could understand the poster too.

Creating the poster challenged me because I wanted the imagery to be big and easy to interpret, but I also needed the text to be readable, descriptive, and concise. Additionally, I wanted to create banners on the top and bottom of the poster so that it framed the main focus of the poster, making it stand out more. Each vector would be outlined with a bright white circle but the image would break the circle to create visual tension. I would also use a small drawn-looking red circle to create a unique element to the poster that would not draw too much attention, but would hopefully keep attention on the poster for a longer period of time.
